Custom Reports

A major functionality of the RMS is to allow users to create their own grid reports. Every user can create as many reports as needed (there is no limitation).

Users can decide if the reports they create are private (meaning they alone see those reports), public (meaning other users can see and “clone” the reports so that they can use them themselves), or shared (meaning the user selects other users that can see the report but will not be able to clone or edit it).

A report once created is available (by default) to be used on any hotel the user has access to. However, there is a caveat: if the report contains data that is specific to the hotel the user is “viewing” at the moment of creation (e.g. it shows data for a specific market segment or room type or channel) the report will not be available to use for other hotels.

The “Public Reports” screen allows users to preview and clone public reports. This is a fast way to create reports, using public reports created by other users as “blueprints”. Any report once “cloned” is available in the “My Reports” screen where it can be modified if needed. The “My Reports” screen also offers the option to create a new report from blank.

Custom reports can also be attached to auto-emails in the “Auto Emails” screen. This is a very “powerful” combination, as it allows users to automatically send prepared reports to various recipients, avoiding a lot of manual work.

Remember: Public reports cannot be attached to emails – only the reports from the “My reports” screen.
